COMP 6660 · EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTING

3 credit hours2026–2027 catalog
Description

LEC. 3. Departmental approval. This course covers in depth the fundamentals of evolutionary computing and surveys the most popular types of evolutionary algorithms (e.g., genetic programming), a class of stochastic, population-based algorithms inspired by natural evolution theory, genetics, and population dynamics, capable of solving complex optimization and modeling problems. It applies them to solve a series of challenging assignments involving intensive programming, experimentation, statistical analysis, and technical writing.
